Priest Lake--July 08

The Latest

Priest Lake: We (Grady and I) were able to spend a fun few days up at Priest Lake earlier in the week with my mom's side of the family (the Sharps). Todd missed out because of work. The weather was GORGEOUS...unfortunately for me, however, Grady didn't want to spend the days relaxing and laying out on the beach like I would have liked. Instead, he wanted to wander off into the trees or run through strangers' camp sites. He had a great time, though, and especially loved riding in the boat. We can't wait for Walker Priest Lake in August!

Another softball tournament: Todd took his team to another softball tournament this weekend. This tournament was a church tournament (various religions). His team went undefeated and came home with their third first place trophy. He's all pumped up because they qualified for state (yippee) so we'll be heading off to Puyallup in a couple of weekends.

New job: My exciting news is that I've taken a new job in our school district. I've been teaching fifth grade for the past three years and have really liked that age level but couldn't pass up the opportunity to work half time this next year. So I'll be teaching kindergarten! It is a half day position so I'll work mornings and be able to spend the afternoons at home with the Gradester. I am really excited to work with younger kids and especially to get to be home by noon!

Grandkid Magnets

Brandt, Macey, Kaden

Amy, Haylee

Grady

Lillie

I made these magnets (totally stole the idea from my sister-in-law) for my mom for her birthday. I think they are so cute--mostly because of the cute kids! They are 4 x 4 chipboard coasters that I scrapbooked on and then mod podged. Happy Birthday MOM !!! (Julee don't worry, I've got one waiting for Lil Ju!)

Grady's Best Friend

I have been wanting to post a picture of Grady and his friend, Addy, for a while now because they are so cute together! They are so fun to watch playing and "talking" to each other. Addy came over to play the other day and it was so nice because for the first time in a long time Grady played with toys instead of emptying drawers and cabinets all morning. During the school year, Grady went to Addy's house twice a week and they became such good friends! They are excited to see each other at church or family functions or wherever else. I am so thankful that Anneka took on the task of having two toddlers twice a week!!!

Check out my kitchen cabinets!

After 2 years in our house, my kitchen cabinets are finally complete. It is pretty ironic that the kitchen cabinets are one of the last projects to be crossed off our to-do list since my husband spends 40+ hours a week building cabinets, but he has spent the past two years building them for everyone but me. I have had nice lower cabinets during this time (which I am very grateful to have had) but it will be so nice to have double the storage space (and to finally unpack a few “kitchen” boxes from when we moved in). They are gorgeous cabinets and I haven’t been able to keep my eyes off them all day.
