Hanging with the Gilberts

With Grandma Gilbert's funeral last week, we were able to spend lots of time with cousins! Grady loves going "wa wa" (hot tubbing) and could ride around all day in that John Deere tractor. Now we're off to sunny CA for spring break!

Grandma Gilbert

An amazing woman. Beautiful, hard-working, talented, and athletic (she played softball tournaments until age 52)! Wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Update

Here is a quick update of our lives for anyone who might still occasionally stop by our blog...Grady is growing like crazy, every time I step back and look at him, I'm amazed. He is definitely NOT a baby anymore. I still call him my baby from time to time but my mom is quick to correct me. He is talking non-stop, with or without his binky in his mouth. It is amazing what he pulls out of that little brain of his. Just the other afternoon after I got off the phone with Todd, he let me know that "Daddy at work." Which isn't necessarily amazing except that I'm pretty sure we've never really had a conversation about where dad is every afternoon. You'd think we would've, but I sure can't recall it. He also does stuff like point to cars and say "Grandma's car" when the cars really do look like both of his grandma's cars. He is getting kind of picky about food--I basically have to call everything "chicken" or "cake" to get him to try it. He loves playing with cars and trucks and loves being read to. One of the cutest things he's doing right now is flexing and growling when we ask him where his muscles are...maybe I'll have to post a video clip. Todd has become somewhat obsessed with being a "loser". He's been doing a Biggest Loser competition with his family and is really getting into it. The competition started on January 1st and will end on April 1st. He didn't even really try to lose weight until after January but he is almost unrecognizable these days. He jokes about taking his senior pictures again...and really could because I think after 5 more pounds he'll be back to his senior year weight. He is much more disciplined than I am at passing up junkfood and about exercising. I guess he is pretty motivated by the prize money but is even more motivated by the upcoming softball season. I can't wait...
