Summer Heat
Hours and hours of chasing Grady around at softball games finally paid off yesterday (well, sort of)...Todd's tournament team won the championship game at the Summer Heat Church Tournament in Moses Lake. It was a long, HOT day and we literally spent ALL day there, but it was fun to see them win. Todd, of course, named himself as one of the all-stars--I guess that's what you get to do when you put the team together and when the team is named "Gilbert Cabinets." He also gets to play the position he wants and gets to bat wherever he wants in the line-up. He actually did do really well--the whole team did. I have gone from full-time to half-time stat girl now that Grady is at the stage of never wanting to sit still. I have to hand off the book to chase him down at least 50 times a game. I've caught him trying to get into garbage cans, walking onto other fields as they call an emergency time-out in the middle of a play, picking up everything from food remnants to sunflower seed shells to cigarettes, and all of this when I really am trying to keep a good eye on him. It just takes the blink of an eye for him to get away and get into mischief. The other day I was out at my mom's house just relaxing and visiting when all of the sudden Grady walked by with a pair of his cousin's crusty undies in his mouth!!! No wonder the kid is constantly sick! It was not pretty...and I once again did a thorough wipe of his entire mouth with a wad of wipe ups. Probably leaving his mouth quite soapy tasting, but at least I felt like I was getting some of the germs and who knows what else out. School is finally out! I have had the best weekend just knowing that I don't have to go back to work on Monday, or Tuesday, or Wednesday, etc. Well, we are on our way to make the rounds to our dads' houses for Father's Day....Happy Father's Day to any and all dads out there who read this!!!

yikes i am no longer looking forward to my kid walking or crawling for that matter, they get into way too much mischief. congrats, todd on the tourney win. now you're gonna quit while you're on top...right? wish i could be there to give grado a big squeeze. you'll just have to come down and visit so that i can do that.
You may need to add another thing to that list... Grady found some dog food out back at my house yesterday. He already had it good and chewed before I attempted to get it out. He will survive this stage although the picture of him carrying the blue band of Brandt's nasty undies in his teeth and tossing them around a little will never be forgotten and continues to make me laugh as I type. For the record I had wanted to throw those undies away when he pulled them off hours before- partly as punishment for the lack of wiping but mom said "Oh just wash them" so I wadded them up and put them away in the bag - that Grady later rummaged through.
Nice....
Wendy just complete the visual on that one. Ha ha ha ahhh..
Congrats. So what are you up to now?
What was Todd degree in?
